Rare 1935 Lionel Mickey Mouse Circus Train Set with original box and accessories. Offered for sale is a rare 1935 Lionel Toy Company Mickey Mouse Circus Train Tin Wind up set. Original illustrated cardboard box measures around 11 x 17 x 3 inches.
Train set has a 7 inch long wind-up red painted metal engine, a 4 inch long coal car with attached composition Mickey Mouse figure, and three 6 inch long tin litho train cars. The engine is labeled Lionel Lines. The engine's windup action works fine - back wheels w/attached side rails revolve w/rod movement and bell rings. This engine has a light bulb on front, untested as it requires a special battery which is no longer produced.
Complete train set with 3 passenger cars: Mickey Mouse Circus - Mickey Mouse Band - Circus Dining Car. Incredible lithography of many of the early 1930's Disney characters on both sides of the cars, including Minnie Mouse , Donald Duck , the 3 Little Pigs and big bad wolf , Horace Horsecollar , Clarabelle Clown , etc. In near un-played with condition, please see pics below. Comes with 10 sections of train tracks, 8 curved sections, and 2 straight sections. Set comes w/die-cut cardboard accessory pieces that include the large circus tent, with advertisement walls featuring colorful graphics of various Disney characters in the circus parade.
Separate pieces include "Sunoco" gas pumps, Sunoco billboard, "Mickey Mouse Circus" barrel truck, "To The Circus" piece featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse and two 5ยข admission tickets. A showpiece item for both collectors of Disneyana and train sets. A rare set to find near complete and excellent condition. Condition : Guaranteed all original, and a very rare find in this high quality condition.The engine and coal car are also fine, with some minor wear to the edges. The cardboard pieces are generally very good with some creases/separation wear. The cardboard Mickey Mouse image above the Entrance sign is missing one ear.
Cardboard tent has scattered creases and dust soiling. Circus tent top and flag are missing a tab. Some of the cardboard accessories are no longer present, but a majority are here as shown. The set is m issing the 5 tall painted composition figure of Mickey as a circus barker.
The box is fair/good condition with some creasing/separation tears to the box side panels.
