1920's Strauss Tin Windup Knock Out Prize Fighters Boxing Toy (Earlier Version)
This is a fantastic tin windup boxing toy that was made by Ferdinand Strauss in early 1921. This is the Knock-Out Prize Fighters and it features two boxers with wood bodies and metal arms and legs that dance about upon the platform boxing ring as though in a fight! There are wonderful lithographed images around the base that depict the boxers bumping gloves at the start with ref and audience nearby, another side shows one boxer resting in his chair and getting a rubdown while being fanned by a towel, and another shows 2 cavemen with clubs going at it! The clockwork windup mechanism has a built-in key and on/off switch and it still works great with the boxers dancing about. 5.75" x 4" x 5.75 tall.

This toy is one of the earlier versions in 1921 where the wooden figures are just plain brown colored with no painted faces or bodies. I have included two pics of the differences between the two. Please note, these other figures are for reference only and are NOT included in the sale.

CONDITION: This is in excellent condition with high gloss and looks in unplayed with condition. This is all original with no touch-ups and has the original rope ring. The clockwork windup mechanism still works great. The screws that hold the arms and legs on look like they are not in completely but this is the way they are supposed to be so the arms/legs can move while they are dancing around.

If you would like the later version that has the original box, I also have that one up for sale. YOUR Satisfaction is our #1 Priority! We PROMISE we can make you happy if you give us a fair chance.
