1930's Marx, One General Alarm Fire House Tin Toy, Complete Works, Original Box
Here is a vintage 1930'S, Louis Marx, Tin, One General Alarm Fire House Toy Set. The original box is complete with a couple of corner splits and a few small punctures (see photos). This beautifully lithographed base toy is in excellent to like new condition.
The paint is glossy and there is no rust or other signs of corrosion. The 2 original vehicles and winder are in excellent condition with only minor wear and the wood wheels are all perfect.
The instruction sheet is not included. Wind it up, put the 2 vehicles in the garage and when the "fire alarm" is pulled, the cars shoot out and the fire alarm rings! Indeed, a very desirable early Marx toy! The box size is about 18" x 12" x 4 and the toy is just about the same size.
There are no inserts in the box but I don't believe it came with any when new. A very nice and scarce addition to any Marx Collection! All pictures are of the actual item you will receive. A great addition to any Marx toy or Fireman's collection.

SO I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND TRIED IT AND I'M HAPPY TO SAY, THIS PIECE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN LOOKS AND OPERATION!!! THE BELL RINGS AND THE VEHICLES ARE DISCHARGED ONE AT A TIME. INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL BOX W/ INSERT, INSTRUCTION SHEET, AND BOTH VEHICLES. THERE IS NO NUMBER ON THE BOX OR INSTRUCTION SHEET. THE TIN IS STRAIGHT AND THE LITHO IS BRIGHT WITH ALL TABS PRESENT. BOTH VEHICLES ARE COMPLETE AND LOOK UNUSED. THE BOX IS UNDAMAGED WITH ONLY TWO SMALL WRITINGS IN GREASE PENCIL. ONE IS ON THE END THAT READS "298". THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE A LITTLE "BUG EATEN", BUT COMPLETE.THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE NICEST MARX ITEMS I'VE EVER SEEN!!! THIS IS THE PERFECT SIZE FOR "O/O27" TRAINS AND WOULD LOOK GREAT ON YOUR LAYOUT!
