Early Vintage Mettoy Gentleman Tin Motorcycle (Great Britain)

For sale, seldom seen and very unusual all tin Mettoy motorcycle. Just about 5 1/2 inches long and made in Great Britain.

I believe this was called the "Gentleman" as rather then a racing helmet this dashing driver is sporting a scarf, striped jacket and tennis racket. This is an early , very heavy, well made toy. It is full of color, design. Cycle has 2 large rolling wheels as well as 2 smaller wheels driven by clockwork motor. Winding motor seems to work most of the time , as with a short wind the cycle takes a quick trip across the table.

At times the main spring seems to want to unwind a bit, and a turn of the key tightens it up. Possible some lubrication or adjustment might help. Please use pics as part of description. As seen toy is shiny and bright but does have some scratches, chips, rubs, and general wear throughout. A bit of oxidation on bottom plate, and some wear on edge of small wheels.

With that said this is a fantastic toy to display and enjoy. I have not seen this toy in recent past in condition as nice as this.
