Lionel race boat #44 WOW! LOOK! PREWAR windup tin partial restoration with issues

Some storage damage to the paint at the front and back and a spot near the deck vent. See the photos and ask questions. Wound and ran when tested but will need some oil to really spin as these boats do. Perhaps a project for a collector who wants a pretty much mint example but will need some professional help to be completely perfect.

There is a very small chip in the paint on the bottom right on the center ridge; otherwise the bottom is about perfect. Does not appear to have been disassembled. No return on this item unless mis-represented. Upon a recent examination I noticed for the first time, which a sharp eye can see in the photos, there is some corrosion on the tips of the motor stacks.

This seems to indicate that it is indeed a toy from the 1930's. Also, a sharp eyed ebayer noticed paint from the body under the edge of the deck which would not be original as the body was already painted when joined to the deck at the factory.
