Very Rare British Victorian Mid 1800's Parlor Home Bowling Set with Original Dovetail Box, 10 pins, Original 3 Bowl plus Rare Miniature Throwing Pin. This is for the finicky vintage toy collector and just enjoyer of all things old. Imagine how this would look displayed in your home on an old Porcelain top table or across your fireplace mantel. This originated as an adult bowling game but was enjoyed by all ages. Some of the original writing remains on the box.

The Dove Tailed Box is missing the lid. I had the lid but it was in pieces. This set was probably British made and likely from a period of 1830's - 1850's give or take. That was the era when bowling in one's "Front Parlor" was very popular especially during winter time though it was fairly popular thereafter and remained until bowling lanes and alleys came to the forefront.

One would simply hang a blanket over one of the closed doors in the house, set up the pins, and bowl with items striking the blanket behind and damaging very little if anything. This is very unique as this is the complete set.

You have the 10 pins with wear and aging but none broken and all appear very solid. You have the original three matching balls that came with the set. You also have the small 5" - 6" pin which was a throwing pin usually played with by younger children. All matching designs and not a hodge podge put together set of non matching pieces.
