Vintage 1912 Oh My Alabama Coon Jigger. Working. NICE! Wind Up Dancing Tin Toy

For sale here is an extremely nice and functional 1912 dated Marke Lehmann German Made Wind Up Dancing Tin Toy, Oh My Alabama Coon Jigger. This is a great looking and functional early Americana Tin Wind Up Toy. The toy, when assembled, is 10 1/4 tall.

The base is 3 1/4" wide, 4 3/4" long, and 2 tall. The Jigger is approximately 8 1/4 tall.

The toy is made of tin, and the figure is hollow. The toy winds and starts as he should when the directions are followed. The key is marked D-R-P on one side and Lehmann on the other.

The starter side of the base is marked Marke Lehmann with makers logo, the key side of the base is marked Alabama Coon Jigger, the end of the base opposite the starter side is marked Oh - My, and the remaining long side is marked Alabama / 685 / Coon Jigger. The top of the base is painted as a wooden floor. There is damage to the lower corner of the non starter and key sides, but this is minor.

The bottom of the base is also finished as a wooden floor and has a series of patent dates, with the latest being 27 February 1912. The base is also marked D.

The dancing figure is nicely painted with a blue coat, yellow vest, red tie, yellow and red hat, white shirt, red and white checked pants and black shoes with off white leggings. The jacket has gold buttons and the figures hands and faced are nicely painted. The paint shows, use, age, wear, and light crazing, along with a few scuffs and some wear to the high points. A lot of the figural paint wear appears to be from the dangling arms moving. There are also some newer scuffs to the lapels of the coat and around the left shoulder. The bottoms of the shoes also show wear to the paint from dancing. To assemble the toy, simply slide the shaft into the base, and into the body in the correct direction, and he will be back together. Please watch a video of how to operate the toy before trying yourself to avoid damage. Though not mint, this toy is in amazing condition considering age. Again, the toy does show use, wear, and age, but it is extremely nice and is completely functional.
