VINTAGE 1940S MARX WIND UP TIN TOY POPEYE THE PILOT AIRPLANE. A very nice example of this popular but rare toy. When wound up and set down, POPEYE takes off and than he decides to change directions, reverses, turns and does all kinds of crazy maneuvers. On the condition side, lithographs are nicely bright and still shines, there are a few paint chips here and there. Most notably on the left wing below the letter Y.

Some very minute scratches on the left wing edges. As most all of these toys have a spot right in front of POPEYE where his chin hits when he does his crazy actions.

POPEYE has some scratches on both sides of his face and his hat. Otherwise, this is a very nice vintage tin toy.
