I call it that because when the boy and girl get to the bottom of the column you turn it UPSIDEDOWN and they go again! Based on the two characters and their clothing and the paint I suggest this toy is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. On each bottom piece there are stamped letters which are very hard to read. The letters are also stamped backwards so that makes it doubly hard to read. The toy measures about -4" tall and is about 11 1/2" at the widest area.
The name NINA is "scratched" on one of the bottoms. No keys necessary to wind this toy.
